Other LIL Projects As part of InnoWild, the common carrot (Daucus carota) was studied in detail. This plant, which is actually known as a food source, is particularly interesting as a cover crop due to its potential ability to suppress unwanted weeds. PROMOTING STRENGTHS Particularly promising WIR! alliances received additional funding to strengthen strategically relevant capabilities. With LIL-Invest, state-of-the-art analytical equipment was purchased for BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, which, among other things, enabled the rapid and precise identification of bioactive substances as part of the LIL wild plant projects. STEERING AND MANAGING INNOVATION Like every WIR! alliance, LIL is permanently supported by strategy and management projects. These are responsible for strategy development, project initiation and support, network organization, and public relations. The overarching goal is to establish a permanent partner network that will continue to work on the alliance’s overall goals in the future. 38
